FM Agent Installation Guide
First Time Installation
To make the FM Agent add-on available to your file, follow these steps.
Prerequisites
- Completely close FileMaker Pro
- FileMaker Pro and Server version 20.1 or later
Installation Steps
Unzip FM Agent.zip.
Move the resulting FM Agent folder into your
AddonModulesfolder.Mac
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/FileMaker/Extensions/AddonModulesOn macOS, you may need to press
Command + Shift + .to view hidden folders.Windows
Users\username\AppData\Local\FileMaker\Extensions\AddonModules
Open the FileMaker file where you want to install FM Agent.
Enter Layout Mode and open the Add-ons tab.
Click the + Install Add-on button at the bottom of the panel.
Locate the add-on in the AI section, select it, and click Choose. This imports FM Agent into your system.
Click and drag the add-on onto a blank layout.
Update Your Existing Installation
If you already have FM Agent installed and want to update to a newer version, follow these steps.
Update Steps
Completely close FileMaker Pro on all machines where FM Agent is installed.
Download and unzip the new FM Agent.zip file.
Replace the existing FM Agent folder in the
AddonModulesdirectory with the new version.Mac
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/FileMaker/Extensions/AddonModulesWindows
Users\username\AppData\Local\FileMaker\Extensions\AddonModules
Reopen FileMaker Pro.
Open the FileMaker file that already contains FM Agent.
Enter Layout Mode.
In the Add-ons tab, right-click FM Agent and select Uninstall Add-On.
Open Scripts and confirm the FM Agent script folder has been completely removed.
If the folder still exists, delete it manually. Scripts may linger after the uninstall process.
In the Add-ons tab, click + Install Add-on.
Locate FM Agent in the AI section and click Choose.
Drag the updated FM Agent add-on back onto the layout.
Notes
- Existing data and configuration stored outside the add-on layout are preserved.
- The FM Agent script folder must be fully removed before reinstalling to avoid version conflicts.
- FileMaker Server does not need to be restarted
