FM Agent FAQ
What data does FM Agent access and store?
FM Agent only accesses the tables and fields selected in configuration, and only the records the currently logged in user is permitted to see. It runs queries using the active FileMaker account and fully respects existing privilege sets. It does not modify or update your database.
To operate, FM Agent stores limited operational data, including schema metadata (table names, field names, and field descriptions), chat prompts and AI responses for conversation continuity, and basic configuration details for support and diagnostics. It does not store actual record data unless a user explicitly includes that data in a chat message or field note.
All stored data is encrypted in transit and at rest and may be processed on secure cloud infrastructure managed by DB Services or its providers. You may request deletion of stored data at any time.

Does FM Agent modify my data?
No.
FM Agent generates read only queries. It retrieves and analyzes data but does not create, edit, or delete records unless explicitly extended with custom tools.
What version of FileMaker is required?
FM Agent requires Claris FileMaker 2025 or later.
Why is the agent not seeing a new field or table I added?
After making schema changes:
- Click Pull FileMaker Tables in configuration.
- Save the configuration.
- Start a new conversation thread.
The agent learns the schema when a new thread is created.
How accurate are the results?
Accuracy depends heavily on:
- Clear field annotations
- Documented primary and foreign keys
- Defined allowed values
- Clean and relevant schema configuration
The better documented your schema is, the more accurate the agent will be.

Yes.
